The subject of analysis is the contemporary opera Madame Curie (2010) by Polish composer Elżbieta Sikora, premiered in 2011 Paris. In an extremely emotional way, using innovative techniques for expression, tells story scientist Maria Skłodowska-Curie form a script opera, with anxiety as main idea libretto. This dramatic work example intermedia which uses electronic media alongside traditional instruments. composition spectacle revealing symbolic significance sound emission interacting libretto, choreography, lighting, ancient Greek theatre and medium. Despite being divided into scenes, piece was directed single set representing laboratory Nobel Prize winner. director patterned staging this after theatre: action on stage, whole proscenium used, orchestra seated at back stage (not pit), soloists front, next to spectators, while conductor led ensemble help video camera, not seeing soloists. chorus amphitheatrically chairs both sides follow eye censor.
